Informazioni sul prodotto
Pinacol is a pinacol ester that is prepared by the reaction of acetone and boric acid with anhydrous ethylene glycol. Pinacol esters are used in polymerization reactions to produce polytetrafluoroethylene, which are commonly used as coatings for electrical wire insulation. The polymerization reaction requires high temperatures, often using a catalyst such as fluorine or chlorine gas, and can be carried out in the presence of air or under an inert atmosphere. Pinacols can also be synthesized by heating an alcohol with boron trifluoride etherate.
