Descrizione

1-Benzylazetidine-3-carboxylic acid (1BAC) is a novel and selective s1p receptor antagonist. It has been shown to inhibit the catalytic activity of the enzyme responsible for the hydrolysis of s1P. It also blocks the binding of s1P to its receptor, preventing activation of downstream signaling cascades. 1BAC has been shown to be effective in animal models of neuropathic pain, as well as in cell culture models. 1BAC also inhibits the production of reactive oxygen species by mitochondria, which may contribute to its neuroprotective effects.
