Descrizione

Beta-Ahlorolactic Acid is a potent, non-steroidal contraceptive agent. It acts as an analogue of the natural hormone 17beta-hydroxyprogesterone and inhibits progesterone production by binding to its receptor in mammalian cells. This compound has been shown to be effective in inhibiting spermatozoa motility. Beta-Ahlorolactic Acid also has genotoxic potential, which may be due to its ability to induce DNA damage and oxidative stress. The carbon source for this metabolite is unknown, but it may result from bacterial metabolism or fatty acid oxidation.
