Boc-L-leucinol is a monomer that belongs to the group of methyl esters. It is an acidic compound with two functional groups: a carboxylic acid and an amino group. Boc-L-leucinol can be synthesized by optimizing the reaction conditions, such as titration calorimetry. This method requires ethyl diazoacetate in addition to an antigene and affinity constants. The sulfonic acid anion of the antigene is required for this reaction to take place, which acts as a mediator. In this process, the carboxylic acid group of Boc-L-leucinol reacts with the sulfonic acid anion of the anti-gene and forms a salt. This salt then reacts with ethyl diazoacetate, resulting in Boc-L-leucinol.
