Boc-diethanolamine is a bifunctional molecule that consists of a hydrophilic component and a hydrophobic component. This polymer is synthesized from diethanolamine, amines, and phosphatase. It has been shown to have inhibition activity against phosphatases in the cellular environment by acting as a substrate analogue. Boc-diethanolamine also has a high uptake rate into cells and can be used to modify biomolecules for use in microscopy studies.
