Descrizione:
(S)-(-)-alpha-(Boc-Amino)-gamma-butyrolactone is a byproduct of the synthesis of L-glutamic acid. It is environmentally persistent and found in high concentrations in liquid waste from industrial processes. This product has been shown to be an efficient catalyst for the production of lactones, which are used in the production of antibiotics, dyes, fragrances, and other chemicals. The bacterium arthrobacter has been shown to degrade this compound.
