5-Benzyloxyindole-3-acetonitrile is a linker molecule that can be used to connect pharmacophores with melatonin receptors at the MT2 receptor. This ligand has been shown to bind efficiently and selectively to the MT2 receptor, which is in contrast to other ligands such as 5-benzyloxyindole-3-acetonitrile. The affinity of this ligand for the MT2 receptor was found to be comparable to melatonin.
