Dibutyl phthalate is a chemical that is used in the production of plastics and rubbers. It has many industrial uses, such as in the manufacture of coatings, adhesives, and sealants. Dibutyl phthalate is also used as a plasticizer for cellulose acetate, polyvinyl chloride, and other materials. Dibutyl phthalate has antagonistic properties against many microorganisms due to its ability to bind to the cell membrane and inhibit protein synthesis. The average particle size of dibutyl phthalate is 100-200 nm with a viscosity of 2-3 cP at 25°C. This chemical is reactive with oxygen and light.
