1,3-Bromo-2-chloro-5-(trifluoromethyl)benzene is a metabolite of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and is classified as a chlorinated organic compound. It has been shown to cause cancer in animals and humans, and may be toxic to the liver and central nervous system. The major metabolites of 1,3-Bromo-2-chloro-5-(trifluoromethyl)benzene are methoxylated by cytochrome P450 enzymes. The metabolites are excreted in the urine, bile, and feces. In addition to its carcinogenic effects, 1,3-Bromo-2-chloro-5-(trifluoromethyl)benzene can also cause other health effects such as toxicity to the liver or central nervous system.
