4-Tert-Butyl-2-Fluoro-Phenol is an organic compound that belongs to the group of alcohols. It is a colorless liquid with a boiling point of 115 degrees Celsius. 4-Tert-Butyl-2-Fluoro-Phenol has a very high dipole moment and is therefore a good solvent for many substances. This substance is also used in the synthesis of biphenyl, triphenylchlorosilane, and octanoyl chloride. 4-Tert-Butyl-2-Fluoro Phenol can be oxidized to form biphenyl, dibenzofuran, or regioselectivity yields of 7%-8%. This compound forms difluoride when treated with fluoride or difluoride. However, this reaction requires higher temperatures than other reactions due to its high boiling point.
