Informazioni sul prodotto
- Quinoline, 4-Bromo-2-(Trifluoromethyl)-
4-Bromo-2-trifluoromethylquinoline is an aromatic compound that undergoes electrophilic substitution reactions with potassium. The reaction of 4-bromo-2-trifluoromethylquinoline with a scandium ion was found to be the most effective for the preparation of this compound. The bromine atom in 4-bromo-2-trifluoromethylquinoline attacks the electrophilic center, which is at the arene carbon atom. This results in a substitution reaction where the methoxy group on the arene carbon atom has been replaced by a trifluoromethyl group. The methoxy group on a carbon atom adjacent to the substituent is also attacked and replaced by a trifluoromethyl group. These reactions are selective, only attacking one of these two groups on each molecule, and they occur even when there is no proton present.
