6,6-Bis(Trifluoromethyl)Bicyclo[2.2.1]Heptane-5,5-Dicarbonitrile is a cyclopyrrolone antibiotic that can inhibit the function of bacterial RNA polymerase by binding to the beta subunit. 6,6-Bis(Trifluoromethyl)Bicyclo[2.2.1]Heptane-5,5-Dicarbonitrile has been shown to be a potent convulsant in animal models and can cause neurotoxicity through its action on gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)-mediated chloride channels.
