Cyclobutyl methyl ketone (CBK) is a small molecule that is used as a synthetic intermediate for organic synthesis. It has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of cancer cells and has been used to treat bone-related disorders, such as chronic kidney disease. CBK also inhibits the activity of acetylcholine receptors, which may be due to its ability to act as an alkylthio group. This compound may be metabolized by tautomerization and oxidation in the liver, although this process has not yet been fully elucidated.
