4-Chloro-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenol is an organic compound that is used as a hydrolyzing agent in medicines, agrochemicals and other organic syntheses. It has been shown to be an effective agent for the treatment of parasitic diseases such as malaria and schistosomiasis. It has also been shown to be a high yield substance with an acidic nature, which can be used to produce diazonium salts. Diazonium salts are strong oxidizing agents that react with amino groups on proteins and nucleic acids, leading to the formation of diazo compounds that have a yellow color. The diazo compounds can then react with sulfuric acid to form a deep blue solution.
