6-Chloro-2-oxo-2H-chromene-3-carboxylic acid (6COCA) is a compound that belongs to the coumarin family. It is a dimerized, stereoselective compound with a thiol group and an aliphatic chain. 6COCA has been found to be efficient in the synthesis of β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds. 6COCA can also be transformed into anion form, which is more soluble in organic solvents than its neutral form.
