Descrizione:
4-Cyclohexylpiperidine (4CP) is a protonated molecule that can be switched between two different conformations by the addition of a base. 4CP interacts with the amide receptor and has been shown to have an affinity for this receptor that is comparable to other molecules such as aniline and piperidine. The switchable property of 4CP allows it to be used in the manufacture of multidrug efflux pumps.
4CP has also been shown to inhibit efflux pumps in animals, which may be due to its ability to compete with drugs for binding sites on the pump.
