5-Chloro-2-methoxybenzenesulfonyl chloride is a potent compound that has been shown to inhibit the p2x receptor and reduce inflammation. This drug is being studied as a possible treatment for astrocytoma cells by inhibiting the production of inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6 and TNF-α. 5-Chloro-2-methoxybenzenesulfonyl chloride binds to extracellular receptors, which prevents their activation by ATP, leading to reduced inflammation and pain.
