5-(Chloromethyl)-1-methyl-1H-pyrazole hydrochloride is an herbicide that belongs to the group of chloroacetanilides. It is used for weed control in rice fields, and can be applied as a foliar spray or through irrigation systems. This compound has been shown to have strong herbicidal activity against various weeds and grasses. 5-(Chloromethyl)-1-methyl-1H-pyrazole hydrochloride is absorbed by the plant, translocated to the roots, and inhibits photosynthesis. In addition, this compound also inhibits the synthesis of proteins necessary for respiration, leading to cell death.
