Descrizione

3-(Chlorosulfonyl)-4-methylbenzoic acid is a cannabinoid receptor ligand that binds to the CB2 receptor. It has been shown to reduce postoperative pain and has potential as a novel analgesic for neuropathic pain. 3-(Chlorosulfonyl)-4-methylbenzoic acid binds to the CB2 receptor with high affinity, but it also displays functional selectivity. This compound has been shown to have an affinity for the human CB2 receptor that is 5-fold higher than its affinity for human CB1 receptors. The compounds also bind selectively to the CB2 receptor, although they do not display selectivity in terms of their binding properties. 3-(Chlorosulfonyl)-4-methylbenzoic acid has been screened in vivo and in vitro and found to be effective at reducing neuropathic pain in animal models.
