2-Chloro-3-methoxybenzoic acid is a methyl ester that belongs to the class of anthrocyclines. This drug also has anti-inflammatory effects, which may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis by inhibiting cyclooxygenase activity. 2-Chloro-3-methoxybenzoic acid has been used in the treatment of abdominal cancer and is found in leaves of plants such as eupatorium and asteraceae.
