6-Chloro-3-pyridazinylacetamide is a chemical compound that belongs to the class of chloro, methoxy, and polymethoxy phenyl derivatives. It is synthesized by reacting pyridine with acetic anhydride and then reacting the product with methyl amine. The synthesis of 6-chloro-3-pyridazinylacetamide has been shown to produce a mixture of products because it reacts with different substituents on the starting material. For example, if pyridine is reacted with chloroacetic acid, 6-chloro-3-pyridazinylacetamide will be produced in addition to 3-(chloromethyl)pyridine. Compounds containing methylthio or dimethyl groups can also be synthesized from this compound.
