4-Cyclopropyl-benzaldehyde is an aromatic compound that can be prepared by the reaction of hexamethylenetetramine and benzene. This reagent has been used in the synthesis of a variety of compounds, including formylation, aldehyde, chloromethylation, and chlorination. 4-Cyclopropyl-benzaldehyde is a conformationally restricted molecule with planar geometry. It has been shown to have a high yield and coplanar structure. The infrared spectrum of this compound shows bands at 1720 cm−1 (C=O), 1690 cm−1 (C=N), 1460 cm−1 (C=N), 1280 cm−1 (C=N)
