Descrizione:
m-Chloroethylbenzene is an oxidation product of chlorobenzene. It is unstable and can be stabilized by the presence of isopropylbenzene, which is a conformationally rigid molecule. The nitro group in m-chloroethylbenzene has been shown to react with solvents such as ethers, alcohols, ketones, esters, and amines to form nitroalkanes. This reaction occurs via nucleophilic addition of the nitro group to the electron-deficient carbon atom present in these molecules.
