3-Chloro-4-methylphenylboronic acid is an inhibitor of bacterial growth that has been shown to be effective against dermatological, inflammatory, and infection diseases. This compound has also been shown to have strong anti-inflammatory properties in the treatment of cutaneous diseases. 3-Chloro-4-methylphenylboronic acid inhibits bacterial growth by binding to borinic esters in the cell wall and inhibiting the synthesis of fatty acids. The inhibition of fatty acid biosynthesis leads to a reduction in the production of peptidoglycans, which are important components of bacterial cell walls. It also inhibits the production of other bacterial enzymes such as beta-lactamase, which is responsible for conferring resistance to beta-lactam antibiotics. 3-Chloro-4-methylphenylboronic acid also binds to lead compounds that are found in some topical antiseptics and may act as an antibacterial agent against bacteria such as
