6-Chloro-2-[(4-hydroxyphenyl)oxy]quinoxaline is an optical isomer of 2-chloroquinoxaline. It is used as a chlorinating agent in the industrial production of sulfonyl chlorides and phenols, as well as a starting material for the synthesis of other compounds. The antibacterial activity of 6-chloro-2-[(4-hydroxyphenyl)oxy]quinoxaline has been proven in vitro by demonstrating that it inhibits bacterial growth and prevents the attachment to cell walls. This compound also exhibits antiinflammatory properties.
