Cyclohexane-1,4-diamine is a cyclohexane compound that has been shown to have potent antagonist activity against group P2 receptors. It has been shown to bind to the receptor and inhibit the binding of acetylcholine. Cyclohexane-1,4-diamine also has some structural similarities with ethylene diamine and hydrochloric acid. It is used in the synthesis of glycol esters and as a chemical stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride. Cyclohexane-1,4-diamine is not an anti-tuberculosis drug, but it does have anti-inflammatory properties due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
