Informazioni sul prodotto
- Thietane, 3-Chloro-, 1,1-Dioxide
- 3-Chlorothietane 1,1-dioxide
3-Chlorothietane-1,1-dioxide is a sulfone with the chemical formula C8H6ClO2S. It is a colorless crystalline solid that is soluble in heptane, chloroform, and toluene. 3-Chlorothietane-1,1-dioxide has been shown to have analytical properties similar to those of chloranil, which is used as an industrial chemical for the oxidation of alcohols and other organic compounds. The crystal x-ray diffraction pattern indicates that this compound has the same structure as sulfone with one chlorine atom on each side of the ring. The elimination reactions are observed at ambient temperature and pressure in both cyclic and acyclic solvents, such as heptane and osmium tetroxide. The spectra also indicate that this compound contains two oxygen atoms.
