Centchroman hydrochloride is a contraceptive drug that is used in the form of tablets and suppositories. It is a water-soluble drug that binds to estrogen receptors, preventing the natural production of estrogen from occurring. Centchroman hydrochloride has been shown to be effective in women with endometriosis and advanced breast cancer, as well as in tumor xenografts. The drug has been shown to inhibit the growth of human tumor xenografts when combined with adriamycin. Centchroman hydrochloride can also be used on a daily basis for contraception and cycle analysis.
