4-Chloropyrrolo[2,1-f][1,2,4]triazine is a molecule that has been shown to inhibit cyclase enzymes. It has been used as a potential drug in the treatment of cancer and bacterial infections such as pertussis. 4-Chloropyrrolo[2,1-f][1,2,4]triazine has also been shown to have antiviral activity against influenza A virus by preventing viral replication. This compound inhibits tumour growth by interfering with DNA synthesis and cell division. The mechanism may be related to phosphonates or nucleobases that are present in this compound. In addition to its anticancer properties, 4-chloropyrrolo[2,1-f][1,2,4]triazine is also an inhibitor of purine metabolism and bordetella pertussis.
