Descrizione

Cyheptamide is a hydroxylated fatty acid that is structurally related to tricyclic antidepressants. Cyheptamide has been used as an analytical reagent for the determination of fluoxetine in human serum. It behaves as a matrix effect, with neutral pH and high efficiency. Cyheptamide can be reconstituted into a polymeric matrix for chromatographic analysis, which can be carried out using a fluorescence detector and a column packed with silica gel or octadecylsilyl-silica gel. The use of cyheptamide in pharmaceutical dosage forms is also possible, but it has not been evaluated for this purpose.
