Descrizione

N-Cbz-O-tert-butyl-L-serine is a biologically active compound that has been shown to be a substrate for serine proteases. It was found to bind to the granule in rat cerebellum, and is transported by specific transport proteins. The receptor protein for N-Cbz-O-tert-butyl-L-serine has been identified as a membrane receptor. This compound has also been shown to have an effect on bacterial cells, including death of Bacillus subtilis and inhibition of bacteriophage. N-Cbz-O-tert-butyl L serine is hydrophobic and can be synthesized using trifluoroacetic acid as the starting material.
