3-Chlorobenzene-1-carbothioamide (3CBA) is a potent cytotoxic substance that shows cytotoxicity against cancer cells. It is an antibacterial agent that has been shown to be effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. 3CBA inhibits bacterial growth by reacting with aldehydes, which are necessary for the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and proteins. 3CBA is able to kill cancer cells by inhibiting their DNA synthesis through the reaction with chloride, isopropyl, or other halides.
