4-Chloro-2-fluorobenzylamine hydrochloride is a chemisorption inhibitor that can be used to reduce the efficiency of hydrogen gas evolution in cooling water systems. It is also an inhibitor for hydrogen gas evolution from metal surfaces. 4-Chloro-2-fluorobenzylamine hydrochloride adsorbs on the surface of metals and prevents corrosion by reducing the availability of chlorine. This chemisorption inhibitor has a low activation energy and high efficiency, which means it can be used at lower concentrations than other inhibitors.
