Descrizione:
2-(2-Chloroethoxy)benzene sulfonamide is a herbicide that is used to control the growth of weeds. It inhibits the synthesis of valine, which is an essential amino acid for plants. 2-(2-Chloroethoxy)benzene sulfonamide also has a hydrolytic cleavage, which causes it to break down when in contact with water or moisture in the soil. This breakdown can be accelerated by exposure to light and heat, such as sunlight and high temperatures. The breakdown products are chloride ions, ethylene glycol, and hydrogenated phenol. 2-(2-Chloroethoxy)benzene sulfonamide controls weeds by inhibiting their ability to produce proteins needed for cell division.
