Cuprate is an inorganic compound that is synthesized by the reaction of copper oxide with ethylene diamine. It can be either a black solid or a red liquid, depending on its composition. Cuprate has been used as a model system for kinetic data obtained from lanthanum. This material also has high melting and boiling points, as well as chemical compositions that are similar to those of organic solvents such as benzene. Cuprate's optical properties have been shown to depend on wavelength, with visible light having the greatest effect on its coloration.
