3-Chloro-L-phenylalanine is a chiral compound that can be synthesized from L-phenylalanine. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of cathepsin D, cathepsin B, and cathepsin L. 3-Chloro-L-phenylalanine has also been shown to have affinity for the phenyl group as well as other molecules such as transferases and synthetic compounds. This molecule inhibits the transfer of amino acids between molecules, which may lead to cell death. 3-Chloro-L-phenylalanine is an acidic compound that can be analysed using physicochemical methods.
