3-Cyclohexylamino-1-propanesulfonic acid sodium salt is a polybasic anion that can be used as a reagent for the analysis of nitrate, chloride, and carboxylate. It is also used to immobilize metal ions on the surface of high purity silica gel for ion exchange chromatography. 3-Cyclohexylamino-1-propanesulfonic acid sodium salt has been shown to absorb water more than other anions and exhibit compressive behavior. It has been used in the recycling of spent nitric acid and in the purification of magnesium chloride. 3-Cyclohexylamino-1-propanesulfonic acid sodium salt is also a multilayer anion consisting of three cyclic amines with one sulfonic acid group on each end.
