Curcumenol is a natural product that has been found to have anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, and antioxidant effects. It is a yellow crystalline substance that is soluble in water. Curcumenol has been shown to inhibit the production of reactive oxygen species from mitochondria in cancer cells. Curcumenol also inhibits the growth of human breast cancer cells by inducing apoptosis and arresting cancer cell cycle progression, which may be due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis. This compound has been shown to be effective against infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and HIV as well as cancer tissues.
