Informazioni sul prodotto
5-Chloro-4-nitroimidazole (5CI) is an organic compound with the chemical formula of C6H9ClN2O. It is a low yield, synthesized product that is used as a research reagent. 5CI belongs to the group of nitroimidazoles and has been shown to be an inhibitor of translation. The chlorine in 5CI can be substituted by other halogens, such as bromine and iodine. 5CI may also undergo diiodination to produce 4-bromo-5-chloroimidazole and 4-iodo-5-chloroimidazole. These reactions are catalyzed by acidified potassium iodide or hydrochloric acid.
