2-Chloroethyl Fluoroacetate is a fluorinated acetate that has been shown to be an effective insecticide in the treatment of didemnidae, monoclonal antibody, phylogeny, monophyly, host cell, atrial leptoclinides, miotic and fluorine. 2-Chloroethyl Fluoroacetate is used as an insecticide against didemnidae and other pests. It binds to the phospholipids of the membranes of cells by alkylating them. This prevents ATP from being produced and leads to cell death by apoptosis. In addition, 2-chloroethyl fluoroacetate inhibits the synthesis of DNA and RNA in host cells.
2-Chloroethyl Fluoroacetate has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of protein synthesis in mammalian cells transfected with recombinant erythropoietin gene sequences.
