1-(4-Chlorophenyl)-3-Fluoropropan-2-Amine is a chemical compound that is structurally related to the drug aminophylline. It has been studied for the treatment of chronic myeloid leukaemia, with limited success. The compound was synthesized by reacting 1-(4-chlorophenyl)propan-2-amine with hydrofluoric acid. This reaction can be carried out in a flow system, which prevents the formation of toxic fluorinated byproducts. Acute ischemic stroke and diabetic patients have been shown to respond better to this drug than placebo, as measured by an optical sensor. The detection sensitivity of this fluoroquinolone is also higher than other compounds in its class, making it a preferred choice for clinical studies involving biological samples.
