Chlorotrifluoroethylene-ethylene copolymer is a bulk polymer that is used as a diluent for chlorate. It has a diameter of 0.1-0.3 microns and is composed of alternating monomer units of chlorotrifluoroethylene (CF) and ethylene (CH). This copolymer has the ability to absorb hydrochloric acid, calcium carbonate, and water vapor. It also has hydrophilicity, which means it can be dissolved in water with the help of ammonium persulfate. The average particle diameter is approximately 20 nm. Chlorotrifluoroethylene-ethylene copolymer is considered to be a fluorine-containing polymer because it contains chlorine atoms that are replaced by fluorine atoms during the manufacturing process.
