N-Cyano-N,N,N-Triethylammoniumtetrafluoroborate is a cationic ionic liquid that is immobilized on an anion exchange matrix. It has been optimized for use in chromatographic separation of proteins by molecular weight and size. N-Cyano-N,N,N-Triethylammoniumtetrafluoroborate has also been used to immobilize the recombinant human protein and to conjugate it with fluorescein. Optimization of the immobilization conditions was carried out by dialysis against water and lysine. This ionic liquid has a diameter of 8 nm, which ensures that it can be used for the separation of proteins by size.
