3-(3-Chloro-4-(Chlorodifluoromethyl)Thiophenyl)-1,1-Dimethylurea is a photosynthetic inhibitor that is used in the production of herbicides, pesticides and analytical reagents. It inhibits plant growth by inhibiting fatty acid biosynthesis and chlorophyll synthesis. This compound also has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of RNA and proteins in animals. 3-(3-Chloro-4-(Chlorodifluoromethyl)Thiophenyl)-1,1-Dimethylurea binds to the cytochrome P450 enzyme system in plants and mammals.
