- 1-Pyrrolidinecarboxylic Acid, Phenyl Ester
Pyrrolidine-1-carboxylic acid phenyl ester is a microbial metabolite that is produced by a number of genera of fungi, including Aspergillus ochraceus, A. elegans, and Pithomyces elegans. It has been shown to have selective hydroxylating activity against Streptomyces rimosus and S. aspergillus. Pyrrolidine-1-carboxylic acid phenyl ester also has the ability to inhibit the growth of Absidia sp., Ochraceous sp., and Aureofaciens sp. This compound also inhibits the growth of microorganisms such as bacteria and yeasts by inhibiting protein synthesis.
