Decafluorobiphenyl is a chemical compound that has been used in wastewater treatment as a polymer. Decafluorobiphenyl is also resistant to transport due to its high melting point and low vapor pressure. Decafluorobiphenyl can be activated by the introduction of proton, nucleophilic, or carbonyl group. The chemical stability of decafluorobiphenyl is dependent on the presence of carbonyl group and biphenyl, which are both reactive compounds. Decafluorobiphenyl has been shown to have nmr spectra that are similar to those for polystyrene and polyethylene.
