2-[2,6-Difluoro-4-({2-[(phenylsulfonyl)amino]ethyl}sulfanyl)phenoxy]acetamide is a chemical compound that has been used to study the mechanism of transcriptional regulation. It is a low molecular weight compound with a molecular formula of C9H7FO3S and is an ester. 2-[2,6-Difluoro-4-({2-[(Phenylsulfonyl)Amino]Ethyl}Sulfanyl)Phenoxy]Acetamide has been shown to stimulate fatty acid synthesis in Xenopus oocytes by binding to the DNA binding site on the fatty acid synthase gene promoter. This compound also inhibits chlamydial growth when it binds to bacterial DNA gyrase, preventing transcription and replication of the bacteria's genome. The molecule can be modeled with molecular modelling software such as CHARMM and then used for drug development
