4-[3-[2-(Dihexylamino)-2-oxoethyl]-2-(4-fluorophenyl)indole-1-carbonyl]phthalic acid (Fluoxymesterone) is a synthetic steroid hormone that is used in the treatment of conditions such as breast cancer, prostate cancer, and endometriosis. It has been shown to inhibit the production of pregnenolone, which is an intermediate in the biosynthesis of progesterone and cortisol. Flumazenil is a benzodiazepine antagonist that has been shown to block binding sites on rat brain mitochondria. Fluoxymesterone has also been shown to have a high bioavailability in rat brain mitochondria.
