Informazioni sul prodotto
2,4-Dimethoxy-5-nitropyrimidine is an alkyl halide which is stable and can be stored for long periods of time. It reacts with nucleophiles to form quaternary salts. This compound may be used to synthesize a variety of important organic compounds such as uracil, quaternary ammonium salts, and halogenoses. The synthesis of 2,4-dimethoxy-5-nitropyrimidine from 2,4-dichloro-5-nitropyrimidine is accomplished by the addition of sodium hydroxide to the reaction mixture at room temperature. This process produces a precipitate which dissolves in water to form a solution containing the desired product.
