This compound has also been used as a debrominating agent, which is the removal of bromine atoms from organic compounds. 4,5-Dibromo-2H-1,2,3-triazole reacts with diisocyanates to form coatings for metal surfaces. This chemical may be harmful to the environment due to its ability to react with halides and c1-6 alkyl compounds.
